Our Staff

As a family they have been involved serving in ministry together as missionaries cross culturally for over 15 years. They both have complemented one  another in serving others in diverse ways. They also both served as Missionaries in over 17 African countries and primarily trained national Church planters for three years together on staff as the assistant to the director of the African missons development team of the bible college they graduated from  in Maryland. They also worked in developing a vibrant young adult ministry that experienced explosive growth while on staff of a Large inner-city ministry in Maryland. They have both a heart for people and have given their lives to be the Servants of the Lord.

As a family together they have helped in many aspects of a daily church operation by teaching; preaching; Biblical crisis counseling; hospital/home visitation; evangelism; leading/supporting team members; planning and developing evangelistic strategies; assisted in diverse official duties and operated with the primary purpose of Glorifying God and edification of the local church.  As a pastor, Ted worked in different levels of church ministry: training leaders and future pastors in the areas of church leadership; Critical crisis counseling; Addiction counseling and discipleship as well as serving the congregation in various other practical ways such as conducting the church ordinances of communion and water baptism; also conducted pastoral services such as weddings; funerals and baby dedications.

After ministering  overseas and serving  at a local Church for over twelve years in Maryland, they  founded the Young Adults Crisis Hotline and biblical counseling center.   They believein the transformational Gospel of Grace that has the power to change lives and lifestyles from the inside out. Together they have found , that if a person gets personal understanding and are just individually loved this opens the door for the Grace of God to come in and do the working Change in their life. Teddy, also has over 10,000 documented Clinical Counseling  hours  overseen by a medical doctor who supervised his counseling and work with those with life challenging issues. Ted is a “Certified Mental Health Professional” by the Florida Board of  Certification.

Their family  relocated to the Tampa Bay areab, from Maryland, rented a home in St. Petersburg, and immediately got involved in American mission field work. Their daughter, Tiffany goes to a local Christian school.

Teddy Awad is a servant leader who is the Lead Pastor at Grace Compass Church in St. Petersburg, Florida. GCC is a new Church plant with Converge-Southeast. He Believes that Collaboration is the act of working together with the Gospel of Grace in United Labor in Partnership with others to serve our city.

 We all are looking for a word from God. Whether they admit it or not, so are the unchurched. In the same way God used music in my life, I truly believe that God wants to use people’s passions to draw them to relationship with himself and with his people. The creator calls his creation through creativity.     

We really desire your prayers for these specific needs: We are looking space on Downtown St. Pete’s central avenue to house a place where people can come and explore their passions.  We have a great team already formed, and a precise vision, but in order to see this vision come through we know we need God to bring us more laborers to help us build momentum. We are praying for musicians, photographers, graphic designers, artists, sculptors, anyone with a creative gifting who has a vision for what the church really could be. We covet your prayer with us for the people who have a ministry/vision for their talents for the gospel and the unchurched. We need your covering of prayer!
